Window adjustment – especially for plastic and aluminum windows with fittings from brands such as Roto, Maco, Siegenia, Winkhaus and others – is essential for ensuring the proper function of the entire window. It ensures the sash fits precisely into the frame, which significantly affects sealing, smooth opening and closing, overall window balance, and ultimately energy savings in your home.

The main types of window adjustments include:

  • Vertical adjustment (up/down) – used when the sash scrapes the bottom frame or is sagging.

  • Horizontal adjustment (left/right) – used when the sash hits the frame on the side.

  • Sash pressure against the frame (sealing adjustment) – used when there is a draft or too much resistance when closing.

  • Summer/Winter mode setting – some windows allow simple rotation of the cam for lighter (summer) or tighter (winter) sash pressure.
